Whatever stones you pick up the Mastromanolis
(Manolis Piperakis) you will find below!
I was born in a small village in the prefecture of Heraklion, Ano Asites. I learned the art of "stone" about 60 years ago. Before I even went to the local game, it was soil and stones. When I was in the primary school, I'd take a spoon, and I'd screw it like a trowel, and I always had it in my bag. I never read, but I built houses as much wood as I ate from my mother and my teacher, I did not understand anything. So my teacher to pass me from one class to another was grading me in the crafts and the show I was very good at.
My teacher saw me I made up as models of the houses, the ones I liked, with balconies and stairs and came to our house found my parents and recommended them to go to become a master. So it happened.
Stone is a material that I loved and I love it now even more because it is timeless and indelible that you can take a turtle and make it talk to you. I grabbed this solid material and recorded all his secrets. I also wrote a book to disseminate art and its secrets, I started seminars in incubating masons. So I found myself today teaching in Greece the right building of stone. I think there are still old craftsmen maybe better than me but they do not say here we are. I wish we were many to leave a strong store of good construction to the next generations. It is a great honor for me to represent the old masters and I do not miss a word of what they have learned and learned from others.
